The Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Zakzaky(H) further explained the Karbala Tragedy at Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah, Zaria, on 16th of Muharram 1435.
Narrating how the Family members of Imam Husain (AS)attained martyrdom, one after the other, Sheikh Zakzaky said the family members and companions were killed infront of the Imam. Yet, the killers’ concern was to kill the Imam himself. When the Abbas was killed, Imam Husain(AS) noticed that the end had come more closer; killing of Abul Fadl was a serious injury to the Imam. All others were killed like animals.
At his juncture the Ima called out ‘is there anyone ready to help the family of the Prophet; is there any body who fears Allah regarding us and who is ready to help us’. The women raised voice as they cried. Imam Sajjad(AS), who was very sick attempted to come for help; however, Imam Husain ordred ummul kulthum to stop him. so, She prevented the boy from commig for hear of loosing the Prophet’s progeny enitrely.
The Imam bid farewell to his family members and asked them to be patient and remain silent. Wearing part of the dresses of the Prophet, teh Imam also bid farewell to his suckling child Abdullah; he even took the child to plead for water, Harmala shoot him with an arrow and killed him instantly.
When the Imam asked for water to give to Abdullah Radhiy, the devaints disagreed on weather to help the baby with water or not. So, Harmala settled the matter, by the order of ibn Yazid, by shooting the child to death. The Imam left all the matter to God(A) while praying for God to take revenge upon the infidels as He is the witness to what they did. His prayer was answered. The Imam handed the body of Abdullah over to Aqeelah- Zainab(AS). Then, the Imam (AS) buried the child after praying for him.
Imam Husain(AS)faced the enemies calling them to one-on-one encounter, Imam killed many of them. He attakced them in both right and left directions. His fierce battle against the enemies made the enemeis to disperse. According to reports, Imam Husain killed 1,9050 including injured. Ibn Saad called armies to attack him without delay, for he is the son of greatest fighter Imam Ali(AS), otherwise he would finish with them all. So they shoot him with 4000 arrows.
Imam Husain called out ‘oh the supporters of families of Abu Sufyan, if you dont have religion, and you dont fear Allah, do not be slaves of others afterwords; just revert to your status qou ie jahilyyah way’. Upon hearing this,Shmr said ridicoulously ‘waht are you saying?’
The Imam further told them that ‘it is me fighting you, so stop your people from attacking my families." They said ‘your requested is granted’.
The fight became intense, he even crossed upto the Euphorate River, though he and his horse didnt drink the water. He left the water when he heard that his family were attacked. he came back and found them safe. it was treacherous word uttered by one of Ibn Ziyad armies.
So, The Imam bid his family farewell for the second time. He addressed his dauhger Sukaina and comforted her as she bitterly weep.
Umar bn Saad asked his followers to attack the Imam when he was with his family biddig them farewell. So, they kept shooting arrows in the tents. He bravely came out and attacked them. He asked for water. Shmir said to him you will not teste water until death. He prayed for Shimr to die of thirst. That was what happened. They shoot him with more arrows. The Imam invoked curse of Allah upon the infidels who killed Prophet’s families. To date none of the killers of Imam has progeny’ due to the prayer of the Imam against them.
With the killing of the Imam, no servant of Allah will be spared in future. The Imam further supplicated to God to take revenge on behalf of Prophet’s family. One of them riduclued Imam by asking him as to how will the God’s revenge be. He described it to them ‘in the from intra fight amonst your factions in addtion to museeba.’
The shoot him on his face as well as on his chest. whereupon he fell off his horse saying ‘in the name of Allah and on the millah of the Prophet(SAWA)……’ as blood flew off his body.
This is what what they did to the Best of Creature on earth in Karbala after the Prophet. As blood gushed from his body, one Malik attacked him with sword on his head; the Imam prayed against his him too. Muhammamd bn Abi Saeed bn Aqeel, a small boy came of the tent, to help tte Imam, he was killed. Abdullah bn Hasan, 7 yr old, also came out to help the Imam. The boy’ s hand was cut as he tried to prevent a landing sword on the Imam. So, he felt on the chest of his uncle Imam Husain(AS). The Imam prayed for the small boy and comforted him. The, Harmala killed the boy with arrow.
They left Husain in blood, each tribe contemplated on weather to kiil him altogether, Shar;atu then attacked him with arrow; they kept on shooting and cutting the Imam with arrows, sword and spear. Proir to his matrydom, he asked for water, but he was denied in addition to ridiculing the Imam. He told them he was about to meet his grandfather and lodge complain to him. Then, he recited a lenghty supplication. As he prayed his horse kept going round him, the horse killed about 50 people with his legs when they wanted to kill it too.
Seeing the horse empty, the family came out crying, Umar bn Saad did not pay attention to Zainab aqeelah banu Hashim as she addressed them. Umar bn Saad(LA), then sat on the chest of the Imam, cut him12 times with sword and then and beheaded the Imam.
