In continuation of Ashura mourning, Fudiyyah school children of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under Sheikh Zakzaky (H) in Kano city, Nigeria, are reviving the spirit of Ashura through public awareness while treking to Ashura Majalis through various routes, streets and neighbourhoods.
The children, merely six years of age, are seen carrying Ashura flags, placards with inscription of Ashura messages, and in some cases stop by to narrate the chronicle of Ashura tragedy to people watching on the streets. They also recite dirges depicting the gretaest tragedy on the Household of the Holy Prophet on Ashura day in the plain of Karbala, 61 years after Hijrah.
The willing symbolic trek to Karbala by these children, takes them about an hour to their destination, defying the severe heat and traffick congestion.
