By Ahmad Sa’eed
Total of 212 pupils participated at this year’s Yawm Takleef (Age of Puberty Day) held at the Potiskum Fudiyyah School recently. Out of this number, 132 were female and 80 male.

Ameer of Potiskum, Malam Mustapha Lawan Nasidi who addressed the participants, described Age of Puberty as age of great responsibility, and therefore urged the children to fully prepare for the great task ahead of them.

He said, books are opened to those children who attained the adolescence age, where good and bad deeds are recorded, and called them to ensure their good deeds outweigh the evil ones.

Malam Mustapha Nasidi also talked on religious rites, which he insisted must be properly understood and practiced, with particular emphasis on Hijab.

He also enjoined the children on continuous prayer and acts of religious devotion and obedience to ways of Allah.

The children were taught different aspects of Ibadat, while Malam Mustapha Nasidi led them in prayer as practical demonstration.
