Use social media for positive development – Shaikh Turi urges youths at seminar in Zaria

At a two-day youth seminar in Zaria, Shaikh Muhammad Mahmud Turi urged youths not to abuse the social media, but instead use it to reap maximum benefit for themselves and their religion.

He made the appeal at a three-day seminar organized by the Youth Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria held at the Fudiyyah Islamic Centre, Danmagaji, Zaria on Saturday.

Shaikh Turi pointed out that, though the social media were made and intended to dissuade youth form the real purpose of life, youths should not give in and become easy prey to lure of the new media on the internet.

He also stressed the need for time management on the part of the youths for self-purification.

Shaikh Turi who traced the history of Islamic struggle in Nigeria to date, said to maintain the tempo patience, tolerance and perseverance must be exercised among members of the Islamic Movement.

While also calling for unity of purpose and mutual respect for each other, the cleric said every member should see himself as a an ambassador of the Movement and Sayyed Zakzaky (H). “Be role models; be good ambassadors of the Movement and Sayyed Zakzaky through good conduct. Disseminate the call of Sayyed Zakzaky as did the Shaikh while as a youth. In him we have good example, a mirror to monitor our conduct”.

Shaikh Turi stated that, for a better tomorrow there has to be a vibrant and better youth, “for their role is paramount in every facet of life”.
