Update On Casualties from Shuhada Foundation Chairman

The Chairman of the Martyrs’ Foundation of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Abdulhamid Bello has given an update on the number of casualties recorded during the latest police brutality in Abuja during the Free Zakzaky protests in the last two days.

This is coming after the Islamic Movement buried six of those killed by the police.

According to Sheikh Abdulhamid Bello, there are reports of two other corpses with the police at the Special Anti robbery Squad (SARS) headquarters, and one additional corpse, who died last night in detention following gun shot injuries he sustained during the brutal clampdown.

Sheikh Abdulhamid also disclosed that there are over 50 members arrested, including 6 ladies, two of whom are nursing gunshot wounds. “One of the ladies was shot in the arm and the other in both the arm and the leg,” he said.

He also said there were 46 others arrested but who are not members of the Islamic Movement.

In the meantime, Sheikh Abdulhamid disclosed the names of those killed, whose burial was conducted yesterday. These are:

1. Harisu Ibrahim Magaji, Gabarin Darazo.

2. Hussaini Yahaya, Barwa Soba.

3. Ali Haidar Ibrahim Sulaiman, Rinji Toro Bauchi.

4. Dahiru (dogo) T/wada Kaduna.

5. Batula Muhammad Gana Dakwa Suleja. (A lady)

6. Abubakar Isma’il Babata Yola.
