THE TRIAL OF EGYPTIAN PHARAOH: LESSONS TO ARAB AND AFRICAN LEADERS
The world is fast changing. This changing circumstance is ushering new surprises to scholars and contemporary political analysts. On Thursday August 4th, 2011, was a day in history that we all been waiting for, when the trial of the pharaoh of Egypt, former dictator, Hosni Mubarak begins in Egypt. The trial is not only significant to the lives of average Egyptians, whose lives he traumatized and impoverished all this years; but, also, dramatic, when the pharaoh emerged on a stretched and caged like a pig, with his two sons. The pharaoh pleaded not guilty. It was a moment of sober reflection for me; not because I have any pity for Mubarak and his two sons; but, on how temporal nature of this world. I could not believe my very eyes, when I saw the fragile man on a stretched, in a cage; that is how all enemies of humanity and righteousness often end. This is a case of how the cookies got crumble.
Here lies a Mubarak who in the last 30 years have traumatized and dehumanized his people and the world of Islam, to be in the good book of Western countries and the illegal state of Israel. In this 30 years he not only worship and surrender the destiny of his country to the vagaries of international capital; but, was also instrumental in the long suffering of the spirited and good people of Palestine. Historically, Egypt is the cradle of civilization and also has history of pharaohs, who dehumanized and brutalized their people; but, it is not farfetched to say that, Egypt is a strategic partner and important pillar of Islamic renaissances in Muslim world. But, unfortunately, the 21st pharaoh instead of building on the legacy of this great civilization; end up becoming the houseboy and the biggest threat to the Arabian peninsular. Mubarak government in the last 30 years, surrender the destiny of the good people of Egypt to his whimsical desire of appeasing America and the state of Israel against his religion and his Muslim community, by blocking food, medicines, building materials and aid package to the good people of Gaza and West Bank in Palestine; who are suffering as result of years of blockage and bullying attitudes of the illegal state of Israel.
The Rafah gate is the most strategic gate that could have offer succumb to the people of Palestine; but, the Pharaoh of Egypt make sure he follow the instruction of his Zionist agents to ensure the gate remain close and the good people of Gaza suffered under the most inhuman condition. Today, Gaza is the largest prison in the world and lives in the area is not only brutish, nasty and short; but, the essence of existence is second to none. In 2009, the pharaoh instructed the army to bombard all the tunnels through which Palestine people smuggled food, medicine and other basic amenities that sustaining their lives. This is the tragedy of the Muslims and Arab world where leaders have surrender their religion and destiny for the comfort of their leadership positions. Today, Rafah gate remain close on the instruction of the State of Israel with the pretence that the Hamas lead leadership is smuggling weapons to fight the state of Israel.
In the last 30 years, Mubarak makes sure, all traces of Islamic culture and morality is erased in Egypt in his attempt to build a so called secular country. The regime ensures pious Islamic clerics and leaders are either prison or assassinated to paved way for the secularization of the country. Organizations such as Muslim Brotherhood, the largest opposition to his government; are not only crippled; but, their activities monitors and disrupted on the order of his imperialists agents. The contemporary imperialists are not only having Islamaphobia; but, from all indication, Islam is the only obstacle to imperialist global occupation. There is no doubt; Islam is a complete way of life and has all answers to crisis humanity today.
The 21st century Pharaoh has served his Zionist agents against his people, to remain in power. Now it is glaring that, this faithful servant of global capitalist system, has over stretched his stewardship against the yearning and aspiration of his people and religion; without any benefits except disgrace and humiliation. The health deterioration and his humiliation in his trial is a big lesson to all dictators and leaders who neglect the yearning and aspiration of their people for a better living conditions that improve their living condition; by wasting their precious time and energy in servicing the gluttonous and greedy international capitalist nations. These leaders failed to understand, that, the imperialists leaders and their countries are never satisfy with all the favours done to them by these leaders; because, their strategy and concern is global occupation, domination, and exploitation. Unfortunately, just like the history of all dictators in the past; these international capitalists often abandon their godsons to their own predicaments and look up to the future leaders who will serve their interests better; that is exactly what happen to the poor pharaoh of Egypt.
There is no doubt; the international capitalist system as championed by Western countries and Americans are not only gluttonous and greedy in their quest to acquired and exploits the resources of others; but, often create dictators and beast that brutalized their people to fulfilled their masters quest. This remind me, about, another dictator that is facing trial in far way France; Mr Noriega of Panama. Former President Noriega was the man that overthrew Omar Torrijos, the revolutionary leader of Panama. Omar Torrijos was bombarded on the air for his desire and decision to nationalize the Suez Canal. Now after serving the imperialists nations for years; Noriega is now under trial for drug smuggling, corruption and abuse of human right. What a small world indeed; the powerful guys of yesterday, are now been hunted by the same forces that used them today. I know anywhere Pharaoh Mubarak is, just like all former dictators, he is regretting all his actions against his people; who could have save him now; but his master that he served diligently have abandon him to face the music and dance to the rhythm of the music.
Unfortunately, as the Arab uprising is widening, another dictator in United Arab Emirate (U.A.E) is strategizing to staying more than expected. It is rather sickening, ironic and sad, to listen to the Interior Minister of United Arab Emirate, announcing to the chagrin of all, that, his government has awarded over $500 million contract to Black water security outfits, to train special anti-riot security outfit in his country. He said this is a security measure to take care of any eventualities. But, on a deeper investigation; the black water security expert gave the emir the condition, that, the people to be train must not be Muslims, but, should be Mercenaries from Colombia and South Africa; what do you think will happen in such scenario? Unfortunately the sheikhs or emirs in the Middle East all in their attempt to survival the peoples’ awakening, have lost all humanism and Islamic ethics in them. Why Black water? A security outfit that was involved in the killing of civilians and plating bombs in both the sunni and shia mosques to create sectarian crisis in Iraq.
Ironically, former President Olusegun Obasanjo in far away Mombasa Kenya, was demanding for dignified treatment for Pharaoh Hosni Mubarak, saying as former Head of State, he was entitled to personal dignity befitting of his status. He further argued that, the treatment meted to the former Egyptian leader was bad for the image of Africa as a continent. Put him in a cage? He queries; he continues “it is not proper. He deserves a better treatment. This is not good for the image of Africa. (Daily Trust, Friday, August 5, 2011, Page 1). Going through the anger and frustration of the old senile; I can only say, to myself, the old man, is just lucky, we are living in a banana republic, where criminals and dream killers are tolerated and honour with chieftaincy titles. If we have a functioning system; where the institutions are fully entrench and functioning, the like of Obasanjo should be rotting in Prison or could have face the Chinese treatment for failing the Nigerian people when it matter most. When Obasanjo talks about, the image of Africa; I really cant understand what, image is remaining for a continent that, is the sick child of mother earth; for the failure of the likes of Obasanjo and his co-African leaders, to turn around the fortunes of a very rich and prosperous continent. If Obasanjo need to be reminded, the image of African is already bartered. African is a theater of war and conflicts; poverty and hopelessness, impoverishment, drought and hunger, unproductive leaders (like Obasanjo himself) etc. What image is the man talking about; please give us break…. I think old age is taking a toll of the man’s mental faculty.
Finally, the trial of Egyptian Pharaoh should be a big lesson, to all leaders who worship and do the bidding of global empire builders; whose desire is to enslave the good and spirited people of the world. There is no doubt; the good spirited people of the world are only yearning and aspiring for equitable distribution of wealth of the world and ensure freedom and dignity of man should be safeguarded. Arab and African leaders must lean a lesson from the humiliation of Hosni Mubarak who has served international capitalist system all his lives and end up in humiliation. The Custodial of the two holy mosques must take a queue from what happens to Mubarak, and allow the Muslim world to have a fresh air. It is evidence Saudi Arabia is the biggest obstacle to Islamic reawakening. The unproductive Saud families either change their tactics or the growing uncertainty and reawakening will one day, visit them. For leaders in this promising continent of Africa, Mubarak tribulation should be a lesson to them, to realize that, the people matter a lot. Impoverishing and subjugating the good and spirited people of the continent will not make the power that they wielded to last forever. These leaders must understand, that, creative utilization of the human engine is the bedrock to sustainable development; Mubarak and his humiliation just Like Saddam Hussein of Iraq should be a big lessons to the Arab and African leaders who are desirous of caging and impoverishing their people for their selfish interests. After all I know they will not take the lesson serious; until when the upheaval finally visited them; and they taste their own music and the unique dance step. For now, let justice be served for the long suffering people of Egypt and Palestine, from this 21st century Pharaoh.
