The Maulid Commemoration of Sheikh Abdullahi Fodiye Kicks Up In Gwandu

The Annual Maulid (Birth commemoration)  of Shehu Abdullahi Fodio (TR) (sometimes called Shehu Abdullahi Gwandu) kicked up  in Gwandu town in present day Birnin Kebbi State on Friday night 11th July, 2016 with Shaikh Adamu Tsoho as its special guest speaker.

Dignitaries present at the maulud celebration include Shaikh Saleh Lazare, Shaikh Kasim Umar Sakkwato, Mal Abubakar Talatan Mafara, Dr

Abdullahi Danladi, Dr Isa Mshelgaru, Mal Haruna Shelleng etc.

Ittihadul Shu’arah team lead by Mal Sani Dan Auta showered beautiful songs of Shehu Abdullahi Fodio (TR) amongst others.

In his speech Shaikh Adamu Tsoho talked briefly on the short biography of Shehu Abdullahi Fodio (TR) and then different leading life of Shehu Abdullahi Fodio (TR) worthy of emulation.

Shehu Abdullahi Fodio was born on 2nd Jimadal Ula, a junior brother of the Islamic reformer Shehu Usman Fodio (TR) and his student who had played a great role in reviving Islam in Western Africa as well as an educationist whose books are reference material and sources. The speaker also explained how Shehu Abdullahi played a leading role in spreading Islam as a practicing way of life which today the leading call to back to Islam lead by Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) is showing us this very path way.

Chapter have for some years been organizing the annual Shehu Abdullahi Fodio (TR) 2 day maulud with a Night lecture at Gwandu, visitation of Ulama around Gwandu, Argungu and Birnin Kebbi, Birnin Kebbi night lecture and visitation of the resting place of Shehu Abdullahi Fodio (TR). Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has been special guest speaker at the yearly maulud celebration.
