The Islamic Movement in Nigeria marked the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan Bn Ali Almujataba(Alaihis salam) on 7th of Muharram 1435 (10/12/13) at Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah Zaria.
The Programme was attended by massive number of people from far and near. They listened to the lecture of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky(H) on the life, struggle and martrydom of Imam Hasan(AS) which occured in the 50 year AH.
Sheikh Zakzaky described the exalted status of the holy Imam who was martyred through poisoning by his wife Ja’adah bn Ash-as for worldly rewards from Mu’awiyyah. Reports concerning his poisoning, nursing and martyrdom were explained by the Sheikh.
His funeral, led by his brother Imam Husain(alaihis salam), was fully explained including the events that ensued as Ummayyads opposed his burial near the tomb of his grandfather Prophet Muhammad (sawa).
