The Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky met with Seminary Scholars in the holy city of Qom on Monday the 22nd of January 2024.
The Leader held meetings with top religious authorities in the central Iranian cities during his stay.
The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria said,” Before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, there was not a single Shiite in Nigeria, and thanks to the leadership of Late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the favors of Imam Zaman (PBUH), millions of Shiites live in Africa today.”
During the event, Sheikh Zakzaky spoke on the cultural and Islamic activities of Nigeria, and the issues of the Islamic world and Africa were discussed.
The Sheikh expressed that the success of the Islamic movement and cultural developments in Nigeria and Africa came after the success Late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and stated,” Before the Islamic Revolution, there was not a single Shia in Nigeria and thanks to the leadership of Late Imam Khomeini (RA) and Blessings of Imam Zaman (PBUH) Millions of Shiites live in Africa today.”
Sheikh Zakzaky added that,” About 40 years ago, I had the honor to travel to Iran on the first anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. The Late Imam Khomeini (RA) gave me a Quran and told me to go and invite the people of Nigeria to Islam with this Quran.”
He continued,” Today, meetings of the Quran and Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) are held with the participation of thousands of people, and day by day the number of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and Shia lovers is increasing.”
In this meeting, Ayatollah Arafi, head of Iran’s seminary, praised the efforts and endeavors of Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky to spread the culture and teachings of pure Islam and the cultural discourse of the Islamic Revolution in Nigeria and wished him health and success. Ayatollah Arafi also expressed hope that the Nigerian government would cooperate to do the necessary things. He sent his greetings to the souls of the martyrs of Islam, the Islamic resistance, the Gaza and Nigeria, especially the souls of the pure souls and their martyred associates.
Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran on October 11, 2023, for medical treatment.
