Sheikh Zakzaky delivers first Maulud Nabiy Lecture + Pictures

Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has delivered the first Maulud Nabiy lecture to usher in the subsequent commemorations in the month of Rabi’ul Awwal.

The first lecture, which is traditionally organized by the Zaria Yoruba community on the first day of the month, Bakin Kasuwa, took place on Tuesday (23/12/2014) attended many people far and near.


During the lecture, Sheikh Zakzaky said, Muslims have great responsibility of propagating Islamic message as practiced and demonstrated by the Holy Prophet who remains a model of all times.

He quoted a Hadith by the Holy Prophet, who said, “Propagate my mission, even if it is in a word”, saying the best form of propagation is propagation of good deeds.

“Your action should speak louder than your words, and try to equate word with action. You cannot be propagating good deeds, while you are found wanting in doing good deeds. Let your actions resemble the good deeds you propagate”, he added.

The Leader also warned against evil deeds such as corruption practices, embezzlement, saying “You should be a good replica of genuine good conduct in your, speech and relationship with people, so that when people see you they see the religion at work”.

Sheikh Zakzaky who emphasized on importance of good conduct quoted the Holy Prophet as saying: “I am sent but to fulfill demonstration of good conduct”.

He explained that, good conduct reflect true being and future of a person in this world, inside the grave and hereafter.
