The leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky spoke on the significance of Yaum dahwal ardi(the day when the Earth was spread) which is the 25th of Dhul Qaada.
He made the explanation during the Weekly Tafsir proggrame at Husaniyyah Baqiyyatullah Zaria on Wednesday the 20th of DhulQaada 1434 (25/9/10). He reminded the Muslims of the many favour and blessings on the Night and Day of 25th of Dhul Qaada and the recommended acts of worship in them. Some of the recommended acts include Fasting being one of the four recommended Fastings in a year, ritual birth and other supplications as found in Books of Dua.
He further said that according to a narration, to observe fasting on this day is equal to seventy year fasting; It also erases the sins of seventy years. According to another narration, to observe fasting on this day and to practice acts of worship at its night is equal (in reward) to one hundred year worship.
On the Issue of release of Muslims from prison he said warm reception will be organized for them as well as ceremonoius Escort back to Sokoto. The time for the reception and escort will be announced in due course for the fact that the detained Muslims are in various prisons accross the country.
