Sheikh Kasim Umar Enumerated the Eventual Chronology of Ghadeer and its Islamic Significance

Kaduna zone of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the guidance of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky have joined the various zones of the Movement in marking the day for declaration of Wilyah. The spectacular event took place on Saturday, 22nd of Zulhijjah, 1437, at ‘yan lilo play ground, T/Wada, Kaduna,

 at about 4:00 p.m. with songs of praise to Imam and the declaration of Wilayah.



The guest speaker, Sheikh Kasim Umar Sokoto, Ameer Sokoto zone, delivered a prolonged lectures on eventual appointment and declaration of Ali at Ghadeer Khum on the 18th of Zulhijjah, 10 years after Hijrah. The speaker chronologically  narrated the event. He cited references from voluminous Sunni treatises, how hundreds of thousands of companions of the Prophet(sawa) extended their hands of allegiance to Imam Aliyu Ibn  Abu Talib(a.s) right before departing from the plan of Ghadeer Khum. He acknowledged the first five great companions of the Prophet to extends their Wilayah such as Abubakar Ibn Abi Quhafah and Umar Ibn Khattab. 



The cleric after narrating the eventual declaration of Wilah, therefore stressed the significance of Imamah(guidance) in the traits of Islam and its influence in Islamic social practices. According to him, for obvious reason and influence of leadership(Imamah) inculcated in the hearts of human being made Allah(The Most High) to revealed verses of Wilayah to His ancients Prophets before the Prophet Muhammad as he revealed the verse of declaration of Wilayah in the Holy Qur’an ( Suratul Ma’idah, verse 5). He mentioned the eventual appointments of the heirs of ancient Prophets such as Shisu (popularly known as Ribatullah) by Prophet Adam(a.s); Isma’il by Prophet Ibrahim(a.s); Shan’uni by Prophet Musa(a.s); Yusha’u Bin Nun by Prophet Isah(a.s).



Speaking further on significance of leadership of Muslim Ummah, Sheikh Kasim Umar traced various events where the Holy Prophets acted which indirectly implies the significance leadership. He explained the massage of the Prophet ( sawa) after appointment of his Prophet hood at 40, he arrayed his close relatives and conveyed the message of mastership. He pointed out various instances where Imam Ali(a.s) raised up three times upon a question chipped in by the Prophet about someone to succeed him after his demise. Upon that, the Prophet declared Imam Ali as his rightful heir years since before the event of Ghadeer.



The cleric also acknowledged the implication of appointment of Ali thrown by the Prophet during the exercise of Mubahila and on the death bed of the Prophet, where he needed a pen and a pamphlets to write something that when strictly adhered to, his Ummah could neither deviate nor go astray.



At the end of his aspiring lectures, he conveyed a message to the Nigerian authorities regarding the one and only language, the only need by entire faithful followers of the Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, which is simple and is nothing rather than unconditional release of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky. According to him, followers of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky would continue to stage peaceful processions in need of their demand for the release of the revered leader, his only wife, other 200 followers detained as prison inmates without charge and those concealed under the custody of DSS. He therefore called on brothers and sisters across the nation to continue following the leadership of the Movement upon which it was established by the revered leader. 



He described Sheikh Zakzaky as a leader that has no contemporary with respect to experiencing tortures in the pages of history of Alhlul Bayt followers.



Highlights of the event include displacement of assorted items of market commodities by family of martyrs  ranging from detergents, vaseline, air freshener, room perfume among others and called for purchase in order to upkeep the families of the martyrs.
