The committee on Education and Moral Training under the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Kano Zone, has held a one-day seminar, Sunday with theme “Towards Better Moral Ethics and Intellectual Development of the Society: The Role of Stakeholders”.
Held at the Markaz Islamiy, the seminar had sub-themes which included: “The responsibilities of the school Principal or Headmaster in running the affairs of the school”, “The contribution of teachers in imparting knowledge and inculcating good morals”, “Overview of the mandate and operational structure of the education committee of the Islamic movement in Nigeria” , while observations, discussions and resolutions of the participants was also conducted.
Resource persons who deliberated on the topics were Malam Balarabe Gwarzo, a seasoned Principal, Dr. Sufyanu Shuaibu Sara of ATBU Bauchi and Mal Usman Muhammad. Malam Nura Musa Mafara from the national secretariat of the Education Committee deliberated on the mandate and operation of the Educational Committee.
In a closing remark, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmoud Turi lamented over the poor state of educational in the country which he said, has deteriorated in all aspects. He reiterated that the main objective of the Education Committee is to bring about the needed change in the present poor state of education.
Sheikh Turi also urged participants and members of the committee to volunteer and devote part of their time to teach appropriate subjects in various Fudiyyah schools.
Earlier, Malam Muhammad Isa Ahmad made an opening remark on the aim and objectives of the seminar.
Dauda Nalado made the vote of thanks and closing prayer was offered by Sheikh Muhammad Turi.
