Potiskum Ashura attack: Pastor Buru condoles Islamic Movement, says Nigerian leadership has failed

President of Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation, Pastor Yohanna Buru has on Thursday condoled the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) over the recent bomb attack and shooting of members of the Movement in Potiskum during Ashura procession.

 The Pastor who was in company of Malam Lawal Yusuf Muduru (Malam Niga) of the Niga rehabilitation and Acquisition Centre, Kaduna and Malam Idris Musa, and NGO specialist, was received by Malam Mukhtar Sahabi at the Kaduna Markaz.

“I am disappointed in the leadership of this country. It is unfortunate that this country is yet to produce a good leadership that will protect citizens’ lives and property”, he said.

He condoled the entire membership of the Islamic Movement over the unfortunate incident saying, “My condolence goes to Sheikh Zakzaky, the Ameer of Potiskum Malam Mustapha Nasidi and the entire members of the Islamic Movement”.

Pastor Buru further for such an atrocity to befell the Islamic Movement the second time in one year, the society must feel threatened by the high level insecurity in the country.

“What befell you affects me, and I have no basis to fight injustice and corruption if I cannot speak on the injustice meted on you”, he added.

He commended the Islamic Movement for its restraint and orderly conduct in the face of attack and provocation.

Responding, Malam Mukhtar Sahabi thanked the Pastor and his team for the visit, and commended them for the concern.

He narrated how the incident happened in which 29 people were killed, while 80 injured adding many have been discharged for hospital and others are getting quick recovery.
