Pictures of Eid el-Kabir Prayer in Zaria

The Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky led Eid Kabir prayer in Zaria on Wednesday the 10th of Dhul Hijjah 1436 (23/9/15). Thousands of Muslims from Zaria and environ attended the prayer.

In his sermon Sheikh Zakzaky lamented on how the Ummah is being deceived by the so called leaders in doing things wrongly like performing Eid prayers not on their specific days, breaking of fast while still in Ramadan and fasting on Eid days. The leader further said the problem lies in trying to equate moon sighting in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia adding that equating different time zones is not possible just like saying the five daily prayers at the same time with Saudi Arabia. Base on this, he said, he sees no reasons why the the traditional rulers should force Muslims in Nigeria to pray eid based on Saudi moon sighting.
