At the on-going Maulud Nabiy celebrations across localities in Kaduna, Ameer of Kaduna zone of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Malam Mukhtar Sahabi says no amount of love for the Holy Prophet (SAWA) is too much, as it cannot be gauged.
He made the statement at birthday ceremony of the Holy Prophet Muhammad organized by the Sayyid Zakzaky (H) circle, held at Unguwar Sarki, Kaduna on Tuesday, 8th Rabi’ul Awwal 1436.
He said, those who quantify or gauge love for the Prophet regard him as an ordinary person, saying anything or event associated with the Prophet should be held in the highest esteem above anything.
Malam Mukhtar Sahabi quoted a Hadith in which the Holy Prophet was reported to have said: “No one knows my true self, except Allah and Ali; no one truly knows Ali, except Allah and me”.
He said, the “Days of Allah” commanded by Allah to be strictly observed by Muslims are but the visitation (Ziyarat) of the Infallible (A’imma), rejoice with them in periods of happiness and grief with their sorrow.
He further said, the Prophet and all events and things surrounding and associated with him are worthy of remembrance and respect. “We observe birthday of the Messenger of Allah to express our deep rooted love and affection for him, for it was the birth of truth and guidance by which humanity is salvaged”.
The cleric therefore urged the people to disregard uncouth statements on the personality of the Holy Prophet, adding that not all innovations are bad in Islam.
Earlier, Ziyarat of the Holy Prophet was recited, followed by songs in praise of the Seal of the Prophets, after which a cake was cut in his honour. Another cake was also cut in honour of Imam Ja’afar al-Sadeeq (AS), whose birthday also falls in this month.
