Muslims in Nigeria to commemorate Day of Abdullahi al-Radhy

Tomorrow, Friday 8TH Muharram 1436 (30/10/2014), the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the guardianship of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky will observe the Day of Abdullahi al-Radhy, the infant son of Imam Husain (AS) was killed in the most cruel manner by a three-pronged arrow in the arms of his father, when the heartless Omayyad hordes were asked to at least provide a drop of water to the thirsty 6-month baby.

 

Sheikh Zakzaky made the statement at the end of the weekly Tafisr on the sixth day of Muharram Majlis at the Hussainiyyah Baqiyyatullah, Zaria.

He said the Movement is observe the first Friday on Muharram, but in view of the fact that the first Friday fell on the first of Muharram, the Movement will observe it this coming Friday.

He therefore called on mothers with bring forward their infants, from 2 years and below for special dressing for the event.

Sheikh Zakzaky said, in other parts of the world a procession is conducted, but that the Movement will commemorate the event at the Hussainiyyah Baqiyyatullah for now on Friday morning before the evening Majlis.

The Leader explained said, the occasion will be used to curse and condemn global atrocities on infants and children right from the reign of King Pharaoh, Banu Umayyah in Karbala and present day infant killers.

He said, mothers and people may wish to attend but it was not compulsory, due to distance as many people may want to go back to their respective places in time.

Many cities in Nigeria will also observe the day during the Muharram Majlis in the evening after completion of the Zaria event.
