Staurday, 31/01/2015 was the turn of Nana Zahra circle in the series of Maulud celebrations across localities in Potiskum. It was all glimmer at the Dorawa Primary School, Unguwar Tandari, venue of the occasion.
The celebration which took place in around 3 pm, began with recitation of the Holy Qur’an, followed by visitation (Ziyarat) of the Holy Prophet.
There was also drama presentation and quiz completion among school children.
Several speakers spoke at the occasion who included, Malam Dahiru, Shaikh Yusuf Dambam, Malam Mukhtari Waliy Ibn Shaikh Kabir, among others.
Headmistress of Dorawa Primary School, Hajiya Khadijah Ibrahim, thanked the organizers for choosing the school for the great and most rewarding occasion.
Guest speaker at the occasion was the Ameer of Potiskum, Malam Mustapha Lawal Nasidi, who enumerated outstanding qualities, exemplary moral conduct and miraculous events in the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAWA).
Such superhuman qualities, he said, makes the Holy Prophet undoubtedly an outstanding and distinct personality in history.
The Maulud celebration was attended by prominent community leaders far and near. Among them were representative of the District Head of Damboa, Alhaji Ahmad Mai Hula,Principal of GDJSS Kara, Alhaji Muhammadu Mamu and many other dignitaries.
Children in colourful garlands made colourful displays, which added glamour to the event.
