On Saturday the 10th of January 2015(19 R/Awwal/ 1436) Fulani organised Maulid programme where the fulani from various places attended including their chiefs or Ardo. The programme took place at Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah Zaria and among the speakers are Sheikh Zakzaky, Mallam Muhammadu Abbare and some of the Fulani chiefs
on matters of unity of the ummah and love of the holy Prophet and his households(AS). In his speech at the annual programme shekh Zakzaky expressed that the only way out is Islam " in this pesent predicament facing the Ummah, nothing can deliver us expect adherent to our religiion’. He therefore called towards studying and putting the teachings of Islam into practice.
He further said Fulani should keep their good manners they are known with for years such as modesty, respect for the elders and visiting of relatives. He warned of plans to corrput the good culture of Fulani race and called on all to always be mindful of thier good culture which do not contradict the provision of Sharia. In some countries, he said, their Goverments make proper plans and arrangements to cater for the needs of herdsmen, but here in Nigeria, the plans are either lacking or inadequate.
Sheikh Zakzaky further noted that children are trust given to parents and as such they must be given proper education adding that sending them to schools does not suffice without proper training on the part of the parents.
He concluded that Allah’s favour on Fulani is great for thier being the torch bears of Islam who spead it to this part of the world adding that they deserve people’s respect for this, though, Islam is not by blood but by belief and living byits teachings.
