Massive protest march organized by the IMN took place in many cities and towns in Nigeria on Sunday, September 17, 2017 calling on the Nigerian government to obey court order and unconditionally release its leader Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).
Some of the cities where the protest march calling for the release of Shaikh Zakzaky (H) was held include Zaria, Katsina, Jalingo, Potiskum, Bauchi, Kano, Azare, Sokoto, Talatan Mafara, Daura, Jibia etc.
The Protesters who took to major streets in Kano holding different placards and banners, called for the immediate release of Shaikh Zakzaky (H) and his followers who are still in detention since Zaria December 2015 massacre where about 1000 are still missing. Some of protesters reiterated that they have not forgotten the atrocities of the Nigerian military. The millitru killed hundreds and burnt alive hundred other peaceful, armless and law abiding followers of Shaikh Zakzaky (H) including children below the age ofthree.
Mal Sunusi AbdulKadir called for the immediate release of Shiakh Zakzaky (H) who has been held unjustly despite a Federal High court in Abuja order to release him since December 2016. Justice Kolawale Passed the judgement in favour of the Sheikh in December, 2016. He also called for the government of Kano state to hand over the bodies of peaceful members of IMN that were massacred during 2016 Annual Arbaeen Trek in Kano.
Some protesters interviewed reiterated that they stand by its leader and will never relent on calling for his release and that they will continue with all their religious duties and activities.
