Sunday January 17th, 2021 this year coincides with 3rd Jumadal Thani the date reordered as the day of martyrdom of Sayyida Fatimatul Zahra (AS), the daughter of the Noble Prophet Muhammad (SAWA), Sayyidatul Ni’sa’il Alamin (the leader of all women)
One of such mourning was the one held at Markazul Imam Aliy Al-Ridha in Kofar Waika, Kano Nigeria organized by the Islamic movement of Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H), Kano zone. Mal Mu’awuya Muhammad Kiyawa was the special guest speaker introduced by Mal Bashir Sabon-Titi.
In his speech Mal Mu’awuya explained reasons for the mourning gathering. The Noble Prophet (S) said Fatima is part of me and I am part of Fatima, Mallam Mu’awiyyah explained adding that numerous calamities were meted on her after her father. He further said “we ponder and reflect to learn and emulate lessons from the life of Sayyida Fatima who is worthy of emulation; how would one feel to hear and know of injustice and oppression meted on the daughter of our Prophet- the part of our Noble Prophet (S) that led to her martyrdom!” He also reviewed a brief biography of Sayyida Fatima (AS) and pointing out the fact that the status and position of believers are link with the test and calamity the believers face, the greater the test, the higher his/her position before humanity and the Lord giving reference with positions of Prophets and Ahlul Bait (AS), and Sayyida Fatima Az-Zahra (AS).
Sayyida Fatima had remained firm and led the struggle to that path of Allah calling the ummah to uphold the wasiyyah (will) of the Noble Prophet (S) in upholding Ali Ameerul Mu’uminin (AS) as his khalifa moving from house to house, and also calling the ummah to restrain from what is not permitted by Allah. She had been denied of her properties and rights by those assigned themselves as Khalifa and administrators and even went to burning part of the house she lived in when some of them broke the door of her house which led to mischarge of unborn child to be named Muhsin and other forms of maltreatment. Sayyida Fatima has been documented to have been crying day and night for the seventy-five days she had lived till her martyrdom.
The Speaker explained that Indeed there is so much to learn from the worthy life of Sayyida Fatima (AS) and the time limit will not allow the review. He gave references for further reading for a reflection of the life of Sayyida Zahra (SA). He called for the immediate release of Sheikh Zakzaky who is detained for five years by the tyrant government of Buhari.
Opening prayer, Ziyarat and mourning songs were part of the program of the day that ended in the late evening with Maghreb and isha prayers.
