Lessons From the Worthy Life of Sayyida Zainabul Kubra (as)

The 10th day Ashura session by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria under the leadership of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky at Markazul Imam Aliy Al Ridha, Kofar Waika, Kano was held on Saturday 10th Muharram, 1442 (29/8/2020). Sister Zahra El-Yakub was the speaker at the occasion and Sister Bilkisu Muhammad as the chair person of the day.

Sister Zahra in her introductory speech recounted on the biography of Sayyida Zainab (AS)- the daughter to Ameerul Mu’minin (AS) and Sayyida Zahra (AS) who is a junior sister to Imam Hasan and Imam Husain. She had been very close to her parents and is so dear to them and had been very courageous and brave and intellectually excellent. She again went to explain how she has been helpful and supportive to Imam Husain (AS) in various respects at the plain of Karbala when they were engulfed by over forty thousand army of yazid bin mu’awuya. Sayyida Zainab, after the massacre, had taken care of Imam Aliy Zainul Abidin (AS), Prophet’ s Family and his followers and stood firm against all forms of oppression by yazid bin mu’awuya. She has also been documented to have been a religious guide who used answers to questions asked on religious matters. She had played great role in uplifting the spread of Islam from whom many got to know real Islam.
Sister Maimuna Abdullahi called for donation for the welfare of the families of the martyrs and opened with a donation of five thousand Naira on the spot, followed by other Brothers and Sisters like Zahra El Yakub who donated Fifty Thousand naira while Sister Sakina Five Thousand etc.
The latma session was held by Ittihadul Shu’arah after the lecture session. There was also a short drama showing what has happened on 9th Muharram 61 AH at Karbala.
