Friday 27 Shawwal 1435 (22/8/2014) Kano Zone of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky remembered its martyrs in the zone.
The event which took place at the Fagge mosque was witnessed by representatives of the Martyrs Foundation (Mu’assasatul Shuhada) led by Malam Abdul Hamid Bello.
Speaker at the occasion, Sheikh Muhammad Mahmoud Turi stressed that, the Martyrs are the Movement’s pride and their remembrance can never be erased, adding that the day is set aside specially to remember heroes of the Movement from the zone annually.
He urged members to fulfill their pledge for contribution towards upkeep of families of the martyrs, saying that there is a great lesson to learn from Leader of the Movement whose positive conduct towards martyrs is worthy of emulation.
For so much respect for the martyrs, pointed out, Leader of the Movement paid special visit on this day to the Quds Martyrs at the Dembo Games Village, Zaria.
Director of the Martyrs’ Foundation, Malam AbdulHamid Bello in his remarks to said, the Foundation is currently facing challenges in the face of increasing number of martyrs, and therefore appealed to members to ensure prompt payment of their dues as part of their obligation.
He described as an obligation of the members, proper upkeep of families of the martyrs.
Speaking earlier, Kano representative of the Martyrs’ Foundation Malam Yusuf Abdullahi had also outlined challenges facing the Foundation and called for collective support.
At the end of the event, Sheikh Turi presented motorcycles as prizes to representatives of Malanmadori, Na’ibawa circles for their outstanding performance in collection of martyrs’ dues and other activities towards betterment of families of the martys, with Birnin Kudu, Durbundai, Kurna and Kawo circles followed.
Similarly, Mal Abdul Hamid Bello presented prizes to the living martyrs from zone and children of the martyrs who have completed Qur’anic memorization. A special prize was also presented to the person who has the outstanding record of giving out Martyrs’ dues from the zone in the name of Ibrahim Al-Mustapha.
