Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria today, Tuesday paid a condolence visit to Ndi Kato, the renowned activist, over the death of her Mother. The visit was carried out by a section of members of the Free Zakzaky Campaign Team, along with some very prominent members of the Concerned Nigerians, including Prince Deji Adeyanju, the convener of Daily Free Zakzaky Sit Out.
In his speech, the leader of the delegation, Dr Shuaibu, explained the reason for the condolence visit. “You stood by us at the time of our most need, you were there for us when we were grieving,” he told her. “Therefore, we are here with you as you grieve. Your grief is our grief. We stand by you as you stood for us,” noting that “even a few weeks ago you were at the Free Zakzaky Daily Sit Out campaign at the Unity Fountain.”
In his own remarks, Prince Deji Adeyanju, explained how the Sit Out community received the news of the death of Ndi’s mother with rude shock. “I convey my condolences and the condolences of the entire community of human rights activists to you.”
In his own remarks, Barrister Onoja prayed that God gives her the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Ndi Kato said she appreciates the visit and said, “this your visit has shown me how you are all my family members.” She added that all she knew or did of humanity, she learnt from her late mother. “I hope I will be able to fill the large void she left.”
