The Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the able leadership of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) held a rally on Friday 18th January, 2019 calling for the unconditional release of Marzieh Hashemi in Kano, Nigeria.
The renowned Press TV journalist has been kidnapped and held by FBI on Sunday, January 13th, 2019 in USA during her visit to see family and relations in America, and since then no information about her has been heard despite appeals by family and various advocacy and humanitarian groups.
In a short speech at the rally Shaikh Sunusi AbdulKadir Koki showed the concern of the movement of the illegal act of kidnapping by a country claiming to be role model of justice, upholding human rights of citizens and freedom. He also showed concern of how most countries in the world and many advocacy and humanitarian groups have remained silent on this great injustice while evidences have shown that when the Noble Prophet is insulted or Muslims are abused etc they come out rallying around the evil perpetuators. He reminded the world that this very act is a threat to all Journalists, all Females, Muslims and also an abuse to hijab. He called for the immediate release of the Press TV Anchor.
He also used the opportunity to call Nigerian government for the immediate and unconditional release of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and his Wife Malama Zeenatuddeen Ibraheem who are still held since Zaria Massacre December 12th -14th in Zaria, Nigeria despite court order for their release since December, 2016 and their ailing health condition.
