Eidul Adha prayers were today 10^th Dhul-Hjjah, 1433 AH conducted at Husainiyya Baqiyatullah, Zaria. The two rakah prayer was led by his eminence the leader of the Islamic movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

 After the prayers Sheikh Zakzaky made a brief remark, during which he mentioned that it is a period when Muslims are supposed to learn from the lessons of sacrifice as carried out by Prophet Ibraheem (A.S), who was made to slaughter his only son which he eagerly carried out but was supplanted with a ram by Allah. Sheikh went ahead to call on Muslims to be ready to sacrifice all they have for Allah.

 During the short speech Sheikh Zakzaky stated that this period of celebration is also a period of sadness and sober reflection on what has befallen the Muslim Ummah. The deviation from the wasiyyah (will) of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.A) in which he commanded the Ummah to hold firm on to the Holy Qur’an and the Pure Household of the prophet is the cause of the current predicaments of the Ummah pointed out by the Sheikh.

Sheikh Zakzaky prayed for Allah’s mercy and guidance for the Muslims and the annihilation of those trying to cause rancour for Muslims and their well-being. The occasion was attended by large number of Muslims from different parts of Zaria.
