Maulid of Prophet Mohammad (s) Marked in Keffi PDF Print E-mail

Dr. Suleiman Yusuf, a lecturer at the department of Arabic Studies, Nasarawa State University Keffi, NSUK, has attributed Nigeria’s deteriorating security situation to injustice, saying people have forsaken justice which is one of the hallmarks of Prophet Mohammad (S).

He mentioned this while speaking as a guest speaker at the 1st Annual Maulud of the the Holy Prophet (s), organised by the Keffi chapter of the Resource Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.

The speaker who explored the spiritual, social and political life of the the Holy Prophet said, “The prophet is the last messenger of Allah is our role model all. If that is the case, then all our customs and actions should conform with the teachings of the Holy Prophet.”

He added that the entire life of the prophet is the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.

While extoling the spiritual aspects of the prophet’s life, he quoted traditions narrating how consistent Prophet Mohammad (s), had been in voluntary prayers, night prayers and fasting throughout his lifetime.

Dr. Yusuf said the trustworthiness of the Holy Prophet earned him the title of ‘Al-Amin’, while tasking the audience on love, unity and justice.

Similarly, Dr. Sabiu Adam Keffi who was the discussant expatiated the topic delivered by the speaker, titled ‘Lessons learnt from the life of Prophet Mohammad (s)’.

He further extolled the virtues of the prophet, describing him as a man of impeccable character.

The event was brought to an end by vote of thanks by Malam Yahaya Abdulsalam and closing prayers by the guest speaker.

Earlier, the function was started by recitation of the Qur’an by Malam Khalid Sabiu Adam.
