Brothers of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky held a press conference on Sunday 28/7/2019, in Abuja, make it clear again about the acronym that is being used to associate the Movement with.

In a paper issued by a famous University lecturer, Professor Dahiru Yahaya of Bayero University, Kano, addressed news men regarding the proscription order given to the Federal government by a Court in Abuja on Thursday 24/7/2019.

The press conference was in response to the Court approval given to Federal Government  to proscribe the Movement.

Prof. Yahaya lambasted the proscription move, saying, "We are Muslims not organization. We are not by any name, IMN". We are Muslims as every other Muslim in Nigeria. What we are doing is Islamic activities not terrorism, and the activities are not in any way against the enacted laws of the constitution".

Professor Yahaya also explained that, "Our streets protests are peaceful marches according to the constitutional rights. And this kind of peaceful marches had been severally done in this country by many organizations and individuals. Each time we come out, we stage our march peacefully without any tension, destruction of property or lost of life".

"We shall not hesitate from following all the peaceful means in pursuance of our legal rights and that of our revered leader".

He also disclosed the diabolic plot, where some security agencies reported to have drafted their men to Kaduna in the early hours of Monday, dressed like Muslim brothers of the Islamic Movement, out to forcibly rescue Sheikh Zakzaky from illegal detention.

Professor Yahaya finally addressed the newsmen that, Islamic Movement in Nigeria wishes to inform the general public and all well-meaning Nigerians that any group of persons seen marching tomorrow before the court proceedings are not from the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. They are only acting the script from that Zaria security meeting. We therefore urge the general public to disregard them.

A copy of the paper was shared to the large number of newsmen that attended the conference.
