The Protest in Abuja on Thursday the 11th of July 2019 was peaceful since from the time it kicked up. It was later security forces teargassed the protesters and round of live ammunition. Several were injured.

The number of those arrested cannot be ascertained. The worse is that women were badly maltreated by security forces and their right violated, their covering (hijab) tore. Among those punished were children too.

Police brutalised and tortured protesters and also arrested underage children staging the peaceful protest in Abuja. This is a pointer to the Amnesty International report that Nigerian security forces are violating their rules of engagement and not only abusing the fundamental rights of citizens but also committing extra judicial killings.
