Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un’un. It was with total submission to the will of Man la yas alu amma yaf a lu… that we received the devastatingly shocking news of the passing of Sheikh Adamu Tsoho Ahmad Jos, a devout Muslim and an ardent follower of the school of Ahlul Bayt. Sheikh Adamu’s life was a testament to unwavering faith, sincere devotion, and selfless service.
As a dedicated disciple of His Eminence, Sheikh Ibrahim Yaqoub Zakzaky, Sheikh Adamu embodied the true teachings of Islam with utmost sincerity and humility. His profound knowledge and deep understanding made him a true Islamic scholar in every sense of the word. His life was a continuous journey of learning, teaching, and giving back to the community, making him a beacon of light and wisdom.
Sheikh Adamu was, in addition to being a religious leader, a caring husband and a loving father, whose family was his source of strength and joy. His kindness and compassion extended beyond his home, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As a respected community leader, he was an exemplary beacon of responsibility and responsiveness, leading with patience, dignity, and an unwavering sense of duty.
To his parents, Sheikh Adam was a “fatherly” obedient son, honouring them with his unwavering respect and care. His commitment to family values was mirrored in his dedication to the broader community, where he was known for his selflessness and generosity, always putting others’ needs before his own.
From childhood, Sheikh Adamu’s life was characterised by a disciplined balance of learning and teaching. His tireless efforts to uplift and educate others have left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of those he touched. His dignified patience and selflessness were virtues that everyone who knew him admired and learned from.
Indeed, yours sincerely spent the entire night grappling with the disbelief that Sheikh Adamu has indeed left this material world. It is truly terrifying to imagine the Muslim community in Jos and beyond without such a kind and humane soul. His absence leaves a void that is difficult to comprehend and impossible to fill.
Such is life, and who are we to question Allah’s decree and decision? Sheikh Adamu, may Jannatul Firdaus be your final abode until we meet to part no more. A fatiha for his blessed soul. Please!
