IMN Members Urged to Prioritize Education

By Aliyu Smith Almusawi
Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky have been urged to give more priority to education.

Dr Ibrahim Sulaiman Galadima who made this call during a lecture organised by the Committee of Ethics and Education at Markaz, in Bauchi, he said the education was and still remains the most vital means upon which the aspiration of Zakzaky to revive the true image of Islam can be actualized.
Taking his cue from Iran, Dr Ibrahim stated that Iran is able to become what it is today because it is endowed with educated citizens who never rest their oars when it comes to investing in education. The country according to him would have long been crippled if the country was not scientifically strong enough to resist foreign meddling by massively educating its population.
He also called on members of the movements especially the youths to learn from the martyred children of Sheikh Zakzaky who until their premature martyrdom were known for their unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He stated that the Zaria massacre has created a huge vacuum as it claimed the lives of many agile and high profile members of the movement, and the way to get back up is not resort to violence or lose hope, but to turn their affliction into optimism and use it as a stepping step for claiming the ladder of academic success.
He finally urged both brothers and sisters to firmly hold onto the leadership of Zakzkay and never be tempted by the enemies to divide because the enemies are busy trying to take advantage of the Zaria massacre, and they are desperate to cripple their movement by creating divisions from within.
