How Coward Nigerian Police Kill at least Four in Kano during Arbaeen Trek

By Saifullah M. K.
Nigerian security forces today Sunday the 5th of Nov 2017 opened fire with live ammunitions on brothers and sisters of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria who were undertaking Arabeen Symbolic Trek Kano. The trek kicked up at arround 10.00 am local time from Dala Groundnut field in Kano city.

The journey took to major streets in the city which includes Rimi Market road, Murtala Muhammed Hospital road and through Nasarawa gate where the trekkers observed afternoon prayers. After the prayers the trekkers moved on along Zaria road where they terminated close to Aliyu Bn Abi Talib mosque along Zaria road.

Sheikh Sanusi Abdulqadir gave a brief speech on why the trek was planned to terminate at the place without moving to the outskirt of Kano city, saying that the advance team responsible for the preparation of the designated resting point had not finish their works. He said a decision has been reached to end the trek against the next day when it is expected to start at Lado Bridge by 10.00 am.

after the closing prayer by Dr Sanusi, people began to disperse to their various destinations, when well armed men of Police arrived at the scence and started shooting sporadically with teargas and live ammunitions, where they instantly killed at least four (4) while injuring many.

It is to bring notice to the all and sundry that the claim by the police that they dispersed arba’een trekkers is a blatant lie. They only attacked after closing prayers as many people bear witnessed.
