The Leader of the Islamic in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (h) has said that the Guards of the Islamic Movement are not militants or a wing of armed group of the Islamic Movement.
He made the statement on Saturday the 6th of June, 2015 in Zaria after he watched a matching parade organized by Hurras-The Guards, as part of the activities marking the birth anniversary of the long awaited savior of humanity Imam Mahdi(AJFS).
He said The Guards have some branches like publication, drama group, fire service group, traffic control etc all doing much of work in accordance with their mission -’obedience and sacrifice’, adding that sometimes they jointly work together with other groups like health workers of the Islamic Movement.
Thus, he said “as some who thought that guards are wing of armed group in the Movement, they are neither a wing of armed group nor militants”.
The Sheikh elaborated that The Guards extended much help to public during accidents such as fire outbreak; on traffic control and even on environmental sanitations etc. in all the cases, they received recommendation for the services as they received recently in Darazo where the Guards throughly cleansed a hospital there. There are many similar instances.
He added that ‘the enemies will never be happy with our progress or any good thing, they never say we have over 300 good schools, clinics or that we have health workers who can even handle hospitals ( as they did during Doctors strike in the past)!.’
He further explained that all efforts to link the group with arm possession failed, as the enemies planned to use a group of people carrying arms and upon interception of their vehicle along the road they would say that they are Hurras moving to Zaria to attend an activity’.
