When the mighty Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its allies decided to impose a war on poor Yemen, they might have had a similar dream with Saddam and Rumsfeld just before the imposed so called Iran Iraq war. They thought to route Iran, which was grafting under a nascent revolution, within a couple of weeks. Alas the tide turned against the predators, the oppressed came out triumphant after eight years.
The United Nation had to quickly draft the resolution 298 in order to save the errand boy of the World arrogance, then. The same masters turned against their front and slaughtered him like a lamb on the eve of the Eid of sacrifice – a stark message to the global Muslim Ummah indeed! Were the predators and their surrogates heedful?
In the jungle or in a heedless society, might is power. This age of nanotechnology should have learnt from the history of the Aad: “As for the Aad, they were arrogant upon the Earth without right and said who is greater than us in strength? Did they not consider that Allah who created them is more powerful than them in might? Alas, they rejected our sign.So We sent upon them a screaming wind during days of misfortune to make them taste the punishment of disgrace in the worldly life; but the punishment of the hereafter is more disgracing and they will not be helped.”Fussilat: 16-17.
Can’t they learn from the history of the mighty Pharaoh who oppressed the Shiah of Moses, discriminated against them and flagrantly abused their rights? The creator of might is more powerful. Allah saved the oppressed and destroyed the mighty predators led by Pharaoh: “Indeed the Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector from amongst them, slaughtering their (newborn) sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was among the transgressors. And We wanted to confer favour upon those who are oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors (of the land).” Qasas: 4-5. The Pharaoh of Nigeria does not spare even the pregnant females of the Shiah minority! Will the imperial powers and their stooges be heedful?
Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the globe as against Saudi Arabia one of the wealthiest. They delved into Yemen leadership crisis in order to assert and maintain their hegemony and by extension that of their masters in White house, Paris, Moscow, London or Tel aviv. As the Pharaoh and Saddam dreamt of routing the oppressed, they also had an illusion that Yemen shall be routed in no time. They spent five years now without achieving any among their targets. It is only a story of cruel bloody benefits by the imperial weapons suppliers on one hand and the pathetic killing of our brethren, destruction of hospitals and schools, imposition of famine, malnutrition and other humanitarian crises on the other hand. This is the unprecedented collective (State) oppression of the century. The multibillion dollar rather outdated weapons of the custodians of the Haramain kill only Muslims! The Zionists are friends!!
On a similar note, the crackdown on El Zakzaky and his disciples, the vibrant Shi’ah minority in Nigeria in 2015, sought to kill him and disband the Movement. This was done in a swift sinister way when they perpetrated the Zaria massacre. The State unleashed terror on its citizens using the Army who are supposed to protect same. The plan backfired. Since then Government kept on making blunders one after the other. Several wrongs can never make a right. The oppression of El-Zakzaky by the Buhari Government is the oppression of the century on individual scale. Despite the fact that Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife Malama Zeenat are in urgent need for medical attention after the hijack of the medical trip to India, the authorities are still bent on their initial bid.
The similitude in all these case studies is that there is a predator, an oppressor, who enslaves fellow human beings and coarse them to his servitude on one side. On the other side, it is the innocent, the oppressed person who resists the cruel predator, calls people towards the servitude of the Creator in order to establish justice in the land. The latter are always the triumphant. It is a promise from the Lord of the Worlds. The case of Saul against the Goliath serves as another pointer: “—– But those who were certain that they would meet Allah said, how many a small company has overcome a large company by permission from Allah, And Allah is with those who persevere.” Baqarah: 250 ( last part thereof).
13th Muharram 1441 (12th October 2019)
David triumphed over Goliath. Moses triumphed over the Pharaoh. Khomeini triumphed over the mighty Shah Pahlavi. Iran triumphed over the imperial powers. Nasrallah triumphed over the Zionists. Yemen is now on the favourable side and all signs signal to their triumph over Saudi Arabia and its allies. Now the golden question: Can the Nigerian government take heed of these stark trends and change their attitude for the better more especially now that the global arbaeen symbolic trek of Imam Husain is around the corner? Can’t they see the prospective triumph of the oppressed El-Zakzaky over his oppressors?
People of conscience should prevail on Mr President and his partners in crime, core among which include but not limited to, El-Rufai, Ganduje, Buratai and IGP Adamu, that they must be heedful. These acts of discrimination, flagrant abuse of human rights to religion and the rule of law are not in the interest of Nigeria or humanity and should stop. Ultimately we must come to the point where justice will certainly prevail. Let them free El Zakzaky and his wife unconditionally. Let all State antagonisms to the Islamic Movement cease. A word, they say, is enough for the Wise.
