In the early hours of Muharram 10, 1436 AH, Rijiyar Lemo Fudiyyah school pupils in Kano mark Ashura Day as part of the continued propagation of Ashura message across Nigeria by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).
Dressed in black and carrying red and black flags, the pupils engaged in motivational ma’atham and recitation of elegies to mourn the brutal murder of the Prophet’s family alongside Imam Husain (AS) 61 years after Hijra.
The pupils also condoled people the community over the tragedy of Karbala while attracted curiosity and questions from people of the community, as the event drew large audience.
Malam Ishaq Muhammad presented short speech to the teeming audience on the sacrifice of Imam Husain and lessons to be deduced from the incident.
While explaining rationale for the mourning, Malam Ishaq Muhammad called on the pupils to be steadfast on the path of Imam Husain (AS), as exemplified by the great leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H).
The school Headmaster, Malam Auwal Shamsu said, of the greatest lesson of Ashura is how Imam Husain, knowing fully what will happened to him, took along with him all his family and all that he had. “This should encourage us the more towards supreme sacrifice”, he added.
The children thereafter engaged in prayer and Ziyarat.
