Members of Academic Forum of the Islamic in Nigeria have held a peaceful Free Zakzaky protest in Abuja the Capital city of Nigeria on Thursday the 4th of October 2016.
The protest which took place from Maitama Federal High Court followed through Federal Secretariat and ended at FCDA secretariat Area 11 Garki Abuja.
Men,women,children,students and Youth Forum from Suleja and Abuja carrying placards with the inscriptions of Free Zakzay and Picture of Sheikh Zakzaky which drew attention of bye- passers who have shown their symphaty over the continue detention of leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria.The followers of Sheikh Zakzaky hav being organising series of protest demanding his immediate and unconditional release on medical ground,over five Hilux containing men and officers of Nigerian Police force were patrolling during the conduct of the event.
It could be recalled on 12-14 December 2015 Nigerian Army have killed over 1000 followers of Sheik Ibrahim Zakzaky at their Islamic Center Hussainiyya Bakiyatullah,Gyallesu resident of Sheikh Zakzaky and Film Village at Dembo along Jos road in Zaria on the pretext of road bloked to Chief of Army Staff Gen. Tukur Burutai
During the attacked the Army killed 3 sons of Sheik Zakzaky,shot him and shot his wife Malama Zenatudden Ibrahim, many people were burnt alive including 67 Students of various tertiary Institution and Gwaggo elder sister of Sheikh Zakzaky.
During the Kaduna State Judicial Commision of Inquiry,The Secretary to State Government has testified before the Panel that 347 people were buried secretly buried in mass grave.
Zaria massacre has being described by International and local Human right groups as purely injustice and against the rule of law of any Democratic Government in the world, the case has being filed before various court of competant jurisdiction in Abuja,Kaduna and International Court of Crime at Hague for redress.
