A protest was held on Friday 7th April, 2017 after Friday prayers in Kano City calling for the immediate Unconditional freeing of the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, His Eminence Shaikh Ibraheem Yaquob El Zakzaky (H).
Shaikh Zakzaky has been in detention since December 14th, 2015 after the Zaria massacre by the Nigerian army which led to the death of 1000+ of his followers. A Federal High court under Justice Kolawole has ordered for his release 125 days ago, however the court order was not obeyed by Buhari Admininstation.
The protest passed through Kofar Mazugal road with participants carrying placards calling for Shaikh Zakzaky release, his Wife Malama Zenatuddeen Ibrahim and other members held unjustly. The protest ended at Kofar Mazugal cemetery with a visitation to slain members that were buried in the cemetery.
Mal Sunusi AbdulKadir Koki in a short speech extended prayers to the Almighty for His intervention. He also thanked those sympathizing with the movement and their efforts in wishing the unconditional release of Shaikh Zakzaky (H) amongst whom include Federal House of Representative member from Kano Alh Alhasan Ado Doguwa. On Wednesday 5th April, 2017 Alh Alhasan received members of Academic Forum of the Islamic movement in Nigeria (AFIM) after their protest march held Wednesday in Abuja, the Federal State Capital.
