Free Sheikh ZakZaky Protest continues in Kano

By Muhammad Isa Ahmad
A rally demanding for the release of Shaikh Ibraheem Yaquob El Zakzaky (H) by his followers at the Fagge Jumma’at Friday mosque continued on Friday January 8th, 2016.

Participants carried banners of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) chanting slogans for unconditional release of the leader of the Islamic movement whose detention enters 26th days and denied proper medication after been shot by the soldier; he is also denied visitation from his family members and or his followers.

Mal Sunusi Abdul Kadir, while speaking at the rally, explained the different methods used by the authority in trying to cover up their atrocities which have failed to convice the public in addtition to propaganda being issued out.

Mal Sunusi explained with dismay how media reported the attack in Zaria as a clash between Soldiers and whom they called Shi’ites. He further said it was not a clash as soldiiers with arms attacked defenceless citizens who were  only supplicatiing and chanting Allahu Akhbar and Ya Husain.

He also said one would be wondering how will one be convinced with an accusation from the Nigerian army that Shaikh

Zakzaky (H) and his followers operate a state within a State, while the army,  failed to abide by the constitution of the state by carrying out and exercising role and responsibilities assign to the Police.

Why will the army whose responsibility is to protect the citizens according to the law of the state, carried out extrajudicial killings of  the citizens on baseless accusations, without allowing the court to carry out its responsibilities?

The rally participants reiterated their usual demands- the immediate and unconditional release of Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H), handing over of all  the bodies of all those killed for proper Islamic burial as well as the release of all detainees and compensation of stolen and destroyed properties.

They also voiced out they would relent in making out this demands until they are met.
