Alhaji Hassan Garo was one of the speakers at a conference organized by ‘Institute For Compilation and Publication of Sheikh Zakzaky’s Works’ which wrapped up on Saturday 3/4/2021 in Bauchi.

Hassan Garo spoke on the topic, ‘Importance of compiling write-ups, and history in an ideological movement’.
He noted out that history is like a live episode which always stands out like a spectacle when it is well compiled and preserved. He cited some of the speeches delivered by Alh. Ibrahim Gamawa at the conference who revisited the genesis of history by attributing it to Islam at its advent.
"History becomes new to whoever has not yet come across it either in written or in a dramatic form, hence, the need to compile and preserve it cannot be overemphasized" he said.
Underlying the need to well compile and preserve the pages of history of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Alhaji Hassan Garo noted out how the previous Gospels (Devine books) such as Injila, Zabura had been distorted which called forth the genesis of misconceptions in religions other than Islam.
Garo also explained that, taking a look at the voluminous treatises put forth by great Scholars of Islam throughout passing centuries, many things had been distorted. This could be clearly said, it stands the reasons why contradictions are found in Islamic history today.
The speaker challenged the general members of the Islamic Movement on some memorble events during the 2015 Zaria massacre.
He rhetorically asked, "Who among us knows the actual person who garazes the grave of Sheikh Zakzaky’s mother ?"
"Who among us knows the actual driver who pakes corpses of our brothers and sisters after they had been brutally exterminated ?"
Notwithstanding, it is high time to wake up and do much as regards compiling and preserving these memorial events in annals of history of this Movement.
He called particularly on members of the Institute For Compilation and Publication of Sheikh Zakzaky’s Works to add more power to their elbows towards this great task ahead of them, adding that, this is one and only way that could foiled the efforts being made by enemies of this Movement against the true picture of the Movement.
He called the attention of the conference to the great mistake made by disciples of Sheikh Usman Bin Fodi the reformer of the 18th century. He cited example where he has once trip to Sokoto to find the preserved history of Sheikh Usman Bin Fodi, he could not found any of such history that had been compiled and preserved.
Alhaji Hassan Garo finally expressed grief over the loss of a public figure in person of Late Professor Dahiru Yahaya of the department of history, Bayeru University, Kano, saying that his loss is indeed a wider gap hardly to be filled.
Many dignitaries from the fold of Movement were attendance.
