As in previous years, mourners at this year’s Ashura mourning session in Kaduna have presented themselves for voluntary blood donation to the National Blood Transfusion Services (NBTS) in Kaduna.
Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria had given the NBTS the go-ahead to take blood donations from members at every occasion to be used during emergency on those in dire need.
It would be recalled that the agency had given Sheikh Zakzaky an award for his campaign on blood donation in the religious circle to save human lives.
Brothers and Sister in Kaduna who queued up for the blood donation at the LEA Primary School Zango Tudunwada Kaduna, venue of the majlis, epressed their willingness to give more for the sake of the pure blood of Imam Husain (AS) spilled on the plain of Karbala on Ashura Day.
In Kano, the National Blood Transfusion Service, North-West Zone, in conjunction with Murtala Muhammad Hospital conducted the exercises at the Fagge Friday mosque. About 98 bags of blood were collected since the commencement of the majlis.
The exercise is continue, while the Ashura majalis lasted.
