Tomorrow, Friday Muharram 1, 1436 (24/10/2014), the black flag on the tomb of Imam Hussein (AS)’s will be brought and hoisted on the dome of Hussainiyyah Baqiyyatullah, Zaria, Nigeria.

The event will also mark the beginning of the Ashura Majalis by the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the guardianship of His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

The Leader who made the announcement said, the flag was on its way from Karbala, Iraq to Nigeria and therefore urged members to attend the occasion.

The Hussainiyyah also has on its dome the red flag brought from Karbala.

Sheikh Zakzaky also said, the first Friday of Muharram is set aside for solidarity with Abdullahir al-Radhy, the infant martyr of Karbala, who was killed in the most cruel manner by a three-pronged arrow in the arms of his father, Imam Husain (AS), when the heartless Omayyad hordes were asked to at least provide a drop of water to the thirsty 6-month baby.

Sheikh Zakzaky said the Movement will observe the day on the Friday after the first (8th Muharram) for uniformity and to coincide with the world event.

He therefore called on mothers with bring forward their infants on the day for dressing for the evnt.
