Sisters of the Islamic movement in Kano organized a rally on Wednesday the 23rd of April 2014, three days after the one held in Zaria by the Islamic movement in Nigeria in honour of Sayyidah Zahra (SA),
the daughter of our Noble Prophet (SWA) who was born on 20th Jumadal Akhir. The day has been set by Imam Ruhullah Khomeni (QS) as International Women’s day.
The rally, that had hundreds of thousands of participants holding different flags and banners, passed through major streets in Old Kano city that include Kofar mata major road, Yolawa, Kurmi market, Koki, kofar Mazugal and ending at Fagge Friday Mosque. Praised songs of Sayyida Zahra (SA) filled the atmosphere when the rally was passing through the streets with different gifts handed to people.
Malama Maimuna Abdullahi was the special guest speaker, she spoke on Sayyida Zahra (SA) illustrating her exemplary life worthy of emulation urging all to study the life of the leading lady and most illustrious model as well as re-examine the great status of women in Islam.
Commemoration of Sayyida Zahra (SA) within Kano an environs have started since Jumadal Ula, 1435 with mauled programmes held in different zones within and outside Kano city. The grand finale was held on Saturday 3rd May 2014.
A car Mazda 323 has been set aside for any lady (not within the Islamic Movement) that who wins the Fatimatul Zahra (SA) Hadeeth competition. The competition is about bringing at least 20 Ahadeeth(sayings) of Sayyida Zahra (SA).
