Following the atrocities committed by the Nigerian military on peaceful Ashura commemoration in Potiskum, the military in their usual campaing of calumny to blacklist the Islamic Movement in Nigeria began spreading rumours that the Movement will embark on revenge mission.
I would be recalled that, the Nigerian military had flouted similar rumour after the heinous crime in Zaria, where they murdered 34 people during Quds Day procession, including 3 of Sheikh Zakzaky’s biological son.
Responding, Ameer of Potiskum, Malam Mustapha Lawan Nasidi debunked the rumour and dismissed it as another false flag by the military to engage in further bloodshed.
Malam Mustapha who made the staement shortly after Du’a Kumayl said, "It is never in our character to engage in revenge mission. Allah will surely avenge for us".
he pointed out that, members of theIslamic have a righly guided leadership, who has examplified the higest form of restraint and calmness in the face of disasters and trials saying, "and we stand firmy by this posture".
