Ashura 1439 Mourning Procession in Bauchi

It is today 10 Al-muharram 1439 (1/10/2017) that Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Bauchi chapter staged a peaceful procession in commemoration of Imam Hussain (AS)’s martyrdom in Karbala who was beheaded along with his brothers, children and companions under the leadership of the cursed Yazid, 61 after hijrat.

The procession started at 10:00 local time, and the meeting point was Baba Ajiya Mosque which proceeded to Tashan Babiye, Wunty Get, Sulaiman Adamu Road (emirate) and Central Market Road until the matchers returned to the meeting point (ajiya adamu mosque).
The procession which consisted of different people from various places across the state has also attracted an unprecedented crowd in its history. The march was very organized and devoid of disorderliness and unnecessary confusion.
Thousands of spectators stormed the sidewalks to watch and sympathize with brothers over the brutal massacres of the purified household of the holy prophet Muhammad (as).
Malam Yusuf Ahmad Yashi, Amir of Bauchi led the procession and while declaring the procession closed, he spoke about the rationale behind Ashura mourning, he said it is being organized every year to raise awareness over the atrocities committed against Imam Hussain and his companions in Karbala.
