ASHURA, LESSONS AND DAYS OF REFLECTION ON THE ATTROCITIES OF KARBALA. IMN Kano zone on Monday evening, 1st Muharram, 1438 (3/10/2016) held its first majalis Ashura at Fagge Friday mosque with Mal Sunusi Abdul Kadir Koki as the speaker.
Many Participants, adults, youths and children dressed in black carrying LABBAIKA YA HUSAIN flags came to the venue of the majalis session singing Ashura songs while trekking from various neighborhood within Kano.
The session started with the mourning of the Ashura tragedy (majalis Azah) by the ittihadul shu’arah and then the lecture session by Mal Sunusi.
In his introductory speech Mal Sunusi congratulated humanity for yet seeing another blessfull hijiriyah year 1438, the year the holy Prophet migrated to Yathrib which was named Madinatul Nabiy and subseqnent establishment of Islamic Goverment from where Islam flourihsed to the rest of the world. He also passed condolence on the atrocities of Karbala- the type never recorded in history and which saw the massacre of Imam Husain (AS) the progeny of Noble Prophet (SAWA) and his followers.
Mal Sunusi also draw the attention of the participants on the importance of Time as every human being has a specified life time to spend in this world and will account for his doings in the hereafter. He said Zaria December 12-14th , 2015 massacre will remain fresh in the minds of people as ordered by Nigerian government where Islamic Movement leader His Eminence Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) and 1000+ followers of his were massacred by the Nigerian army with many not seen to date. Among those killed is Shaheed Muhammad Mahmoud Turi that last year gave lectures during the Ashura sessions in Kano.
The vital and great lesson of the Ashura tragedy is the self-sacrifice and standing firm against all oppression Mal Sunusi reiterated.
The day’s session ended after isha’I prayers and shall continue the next day.
