Al Quds Day: for Palestinians and martyrs (II)

In continuation of the symposium session at the international conference on Al Quds day which was organised by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on July 26 2015 at Sheraton Hotel Abuja, Honourable Ebenezer Oyitake made a presentation.

He said ‘the freedom of the world is not complete until Palestine is liberated.

We must stand by the truth. The Zaria massacre is a conspiracy that happens worldwide because government is involved. They created ISIS, trained it and dumped it on Syria. Boko Haram and Al Shabab are all the same. They have the same godfathers. They hide under various names and promote Satanism. I am a Christian but I found the truth in Iran.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Iran, His Excellency Saeed Koozechi delivered a goodwill message in which he informed the audience that the liberation of the Palestine is a key component of Iranian foreign policy. He said ‘our problems and embargoes being imposed on the Islamic Republic of Iran is because of our religious stand. Our enemies have also tried to exploit Shia/sunni divides like they did in Bahrain. The ummah should unite and work to ensure that Palestinians refugees return to their homes.’

Sayyidah Zahara Khomeini, the daughter of Late Ayatollah Khomeini also sent a goodwill message. She said ‘Allah called on us to be patient and steadfast in faith, and victory will be ours.’ She joined the IMN in remembering the martyrs of the Zaria incident.

In his message, Professor Chidi Odinkalu the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission said ‘Sheikh Zakzaky is my leader in the human rights community. All human rights activists should support the people of Al Quds. I am here because of the Zaria massacre. You should demand justice. A public hearing will be held and perpetrators will be brought to book. We pray for aljanna Firdausi for the victims.’

I introduced Sayyidah Zeenatu Ibraheem Zakzaky, the wife of the Sayyid Zakzaky. I also drew the attention of the audience to a prediction made in a 2012 report by Henry Kissinger and sixteen American intelligence agencies. Kissinger said “In 10 years, there will be no more Israel”. The report

states that ‘the brutality and criminality of the settlers, and the growing apartheid-style infrastructure including the apartheid wall and the ever-more-draconian system of checkpoints, are indefensible, unsustainable, and out of synch with American values.’ It stressed that Israel will soon collapse because it is becoming like apartheid South Africa in its dying days.

Sayyidah Zeenatu spoke briefly but had a prepared speech which she circulated. ‘Since I came to know about the plight of our Palestinian brothers and sisters, and the state of the Masjidul Aqsa, I have watched with great pain in my heart.  It has always been my sincere wish to participate in the liberation of the Holy land by travelling there and taking up arms to confront  the terrorist infidels. However conspiracies of the colonialists and imperialists make that impossible. They have been successful in turning the Islamic Ummah that was previously a single entity into many nation states. I have  always dreaded meeting Allah,  the Almighty, not knowing  what answer to give, when asked by Allah on the day of judgement what role I  played when the Holy land and Mosque was usurped. I have always hoped that we here, could assist in the liberation as the lslamic Republic of Iran is doing. This is according to the teachings of my leader, Shaikh Zakzaky. He is the one that shows us the right path. May Allah reward him abundantly! Allah in His Mercy, brought the struggle right here, and blessed three of my sons with shahadah (martyrdom) in the cause of Allah. All three of them, Ahmad, Hamid and Mahmoud craved for martyrdom and Alhamdulillah, they achieved what they craved for, martyrdom or liberation. The terrorist Zionists and American government and their stooges have gained nothing by killing my children and the other brothers and sisters.  This is because we will never surrender to them. We either win or are victorious with shahadah.’

Professor Dahiru Yahaya introduced the next speaker Sayyid Ibraheem Zakzaky. He described him as ‘the most successful leader in Nigeria today because he leads a most successful mass movement. He is giving hope to millions without using money.’

In his speech, Sayyid Zakzaky said “Al Quds is a global issue and not a problem for one nation. It is about injustice being done to innocent people and the need for justice to prevail. There is a global conspiracy to suppress the truth. Saudi Arabia opened fire on innocent demonstrators in Makkah led by Iranian pilgrims. The West was afraid that the demonstrations will raise global awareness on the injustice being done to Palestinians. That attack has not crushed the issue of Al Quds in Saudi Arabia nor will the Zaria massacre kill our resolve to keep the Palestinian issue top most on our agenda here.  Boko Haram is the Nigerian government and Al Shabab, ISIS, AQIM are all the creation of Israel. In Kaduna last Ramadan, they denoted bombs targeted at President Muhammadu Buhari then the opposition presidential candidate and Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi on the same day. Many people died and they also planted bombs on my path to tafsir but I changed my route. On the day they killed 34 members of IMN and my three sons, a special unit of Nigerian soldiers was dispatched to Zaria with the precise objective of killing unarmed protesters’. Sayyid Zakzaky said ‘the attack was planned in conjunction with Israel in order to strike a blow to the heart of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria. That massacre has exposed who the terrorists are. If you touch us you only destroy yourself and the stronger we become. We destroy governments who oppress their people.’
