FUDIYYAH SCHOOLS IN KANO ZONE HELD ANNUAL MAULID CELEBRATION OF SAYYIDA FATIMA AL-ZAHRA (AS) This year's annual Fudiyyah (Kano zone) Sayyida Fatimatul Zahra (AS) was held in conjuction with Wahada Forum of the Islamic forum at Tahfiz section of Fudiyyah Rijiyar Lemo, Kano on Sunday 7th Rajab 1430. In attendance are Mal Abubakar Almizan, Mal Ibraheem Usman, Mal Musa M Auwal and Mal Aliyu Saleh of Wahada forum; Mal Imam Yaaqub of Rasulul Akhram sub unit of Kano Islamic movement centre, also present were parents and guardians. 12 Fudiyyah schools of the Islamic movement participated-they include Fudiyyah Schools of Godiya, Bunkure, Marke, Gaya, Rijiyar lemo, Kazaure, Durbundai and Roni. Others are Kofar waika and Madobi. Two set of competitions were held in honour of Sayyida Zahra (AS) during the event.
The quiz competition was held amongst 10 Fudiyyah Schools and was carried out by the Wahada forum covering areas which include Fiqh, Quranic studies, History of Ma'asumain (AS), History of contemporary Islamic revivalist and current affairs. Fudiyah Bunkure emerged winner followed by Fudiyyah Rijiyar Lemo and Fudiyyah Kazaure in the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. In the quiz competition it was discovered that students performed better in Fiqh and Quranic studies and therefore comment was passed by the organisers calling for improvement in other fields. While commenting, Mal Auwal Shamsu expressed gratitude for the participation of Wahada forum particularly on the quiz conducted which can be used as a yardstick, while calling for improvements in areas of deficiencies by the various schools. He also expressed that competition of this nature ensures harmony and extended friendship in addition to other lessons. The parade competition held in honour of Sayyida Zahra (AS) amongst 12 Fudiyyah schools was colourful with various innovative parade displays and tactics that arouse the interest of the public. Fudiyyah Bunkure was again victorious with Fudiyyah Rijiyar Lemo as 2nd and Fudiyyah Durbundai as 3rd. After the competition a general rally of all participants was held around some major streets of Rijiyar Lemo with voices echoing the purpose of the rally i.e. Fatimah Az-Zahra (AS) Maulid. Onlookers were full of debates of what aspect of the rally was so colourful and interesting, though it was explicit that they have attested a growing number of participants in the yearly Maulid by the school pupil.
