NEW CLASSES WERE COMMISSIONED AT FUDIYYA  R/LEMO KANO

Newly built classes at the Fudiyya Nursery/Primary School Rijiyar Lemo Kano were commissioned on Sunday 22nd Jimada Awwal, 1430 H/ 15th May, 2009. A total of four classes were built i.e. in the phase II of Fudiyya that span 17 months costing #2,480,000. A concrete deck was put in place to allow for another building upstairs. The master of ceremony was the Headmaster of the school, Malam Awwal Shamsu. The special guest speaker at the occasion was Malam Muhammad Mahmud Turi. A walima feast was conducted at the occasion to show gratitude to Almighty for the achievement.

Malam Awwal traced the history of the idea of re-building parts of the school in phases. The second phase is now successively completed. He re-iterated the fact that this achievement was possible due to the help of Allah. He appreciated the continuous effort of the brothers in donating to the course. Despite the imposed harsh economic situation of the Nigerian populace, brothers were ever ready to provide all the necessary support possible in cash and kind to make the project a reality. He informed the audience that this occasion would be used to launch yet another fund for the continuation of the next phase. He hoped that this time around, it is hoped that the project in this phase could be completed within the next nine months.


New block of classes

In his opening remarks, the guest speaker seized the opportunity to condole the Muslims on the death of a renowned Scholar, Ayatullah Bahjati. May his soul rest in perfect peace. Malam also briefly traced the development of the collective efforts by brothers in making the building project a reality. Malam expressed delight over the continuous effort by brothers in donating for the sake of Allah. He quoted Ahadiths and cited incidences to further encourage brothers to sustain the tempo and even improve. Finally he prayed for continuous God’s guidance and assistance in all our endeavours.

The program went ahead to launch an appeal fund for the next phase of the building project. The chief launcher, Alh Abdulmajid, pledged N100, 000:00. A brother promised to build a complete classroom. Another pledged to supply 3 tons of Portland cement. Other donations of 100, 000, 50, 000, 20, 000, 10, 000, 5, 000 etc were pledged by brothers. In all, the total pledges in cash amounted to about one million Naira in addition to pledges in kind. All pledges are expected to be settled within the next three months. The occasion ended with prayers from Mal Turi.
